The wines of T-Oinos possess a liquid energy. At first, they may unsettle — there is no explosion of exuberant or superfluous aromas — yet a rising sensation of warmth, euphoria, comfort, and verticality emerges. In the heart of the lunar landscapes of Falatados and Volax, sculpted over millions of years by wind and time, the T-Oinos project rises. These terrains are dotted with enormous granite boulders, which geologists estimate were formed 15 to 25 million years ago. Subjected to variations in temperature and humidity, and gradually shaped by the wind, they evolved over time into their characteristic spherical forms. Over 25 years ago, Alexandre Avatangelos and sommelier Gérard Margeon created a domain entirely devoted to expressing an absolutely unique terroir. Renowned consulting winemaker Stéphane Derenoncourt joined them in 2016, bringing an approach centered on the land. Their ambition: to revive a 6,000-year-old vineyard, produce great wines capable of traveling the world, while preserving a natural environment of exceptional beauty. Today, T-Oinos cultivates about fifteen hectares under certified organic farming, incorporating biodynamic practices, under the leadership of Michalis Tzanoulinos. The emblematic grape varieties — Assyrtiko, Mavrotragano, and Avgoustiatis — are planted at high density on granite and schist soils, yielding wines that are vibrant, refined, and of remarkable purity. T-Oinos today represents one of the most singular wine projects in the Aegean Sea, in the Cyclades, combining millennia-old tradition, research, respect for nature, and the pursuit of excellence.
