About this winery
The origin of Santa Lucia dates back to 1628 when Marc Antonio Perrone, ancestor of Roberto Perrone, earned feudal income and acquired land near the town of Corato in the Murgia region. Production notes
Riserva Le More comes 100% from Nero di Troia from a rigorous selection of a clone of the estate called "little ace" on a small area of 1.5 hectares, in the Castigliola cru. Harvest carried out during the first half of October; the grapes are gently pressed and the maceration takes place in rotating stainless steel tanks, with temperature control. After fermentation, the wine is aged in new Burgundy oak barrels for 18 months.
Tasting notes
Nero di Troia grapes, are full of personality, with tannins in their skin. Intense and bodied wine, with velvety tannins, balanced by acidity. Aromas of cherries, blackberries, spices and liquorice. This wine gives its best expression 7-8 years after its harvest. “A ripe style of Nero di Troia, yet it’s also hard to resist” (Vinous by Eric Guido).
